Ginny didn't even want to talk about last night. Morning. Whatever midnight counted as, either way, didn't want to talk about it. Ever. Because what happened at midnight could be written off as something that didn't happen, and anyway, she went home soon after that, but the peace she had been (stupidly) hoping for didn't last a minute.
Instead, mum tore into her. She had been so worried, she had been up for hours, didn't Ginny have the common sense to come home at a normal hour, didn't she realize everything that was going on? How could she keep her up waiting like that? Why couldn't she be home at a normal hour like normal people, for the love of Merlin, didn't she see how worried she was making everyone?
And that was the last straw. Really. Halfway through mum's rant, Ginny cut her off with an abrupt. "I'm leaving." And before mum could even ask where, she said the first name that came to mind. "Percy. I'm going to stay with Percy for a bit. Because he needs the company."
And if he didn't want the company, well, he was stuck with it now. Mum would certainly approve of the arrangement and no way Ginny could back out (and move in with, oh, practically anyone else) after announcing it so suddenly. An hour later, she was standing in front of Percy's door, bag in hand.
