So the missing object, would it be the murder weapon? But how could that be, as each homicide had a different method. Potter's neck had been slit, Zurlo was still a mystery, and others had been from arrows in the back to bloodletting. There was no rhyme nor reason, aside from an enjoyment at the act of killing, or at least that's what it appeared.
"So not the murder weapon, but perhaps the reason for the murders," she muttered aloud to herself. "Something in the dark object must compel the murderer, or inspire a bloodlust? Or perhaps has possessed someone in order to have them commit the acts?" The questions were not directed at Cade, simply herself thinking aloud.
Finally, she had her question. "What did the dark object do in the presence of the victim?"
