The weather in Hogsmeade was dreadful, but Melinda was willing to brave it after the day she'd had. Reading about Penelope Clearwater's death had shaken her so much that Melinda had been off point all say, nearly ruining a delicate contract negotiation because she hadn't been focused. It had taken a great deal of finagling - and finally, calling in her father - to salvage it. He'd sent her home after that.
Instead of dwelling on the sting of it, Melinda had instead focused on preparing for her dinner with Adrian. She dressed well, but not so well to make it seem like she was trying too hard. Once ready, she donned her coat, cast quick, but strong Impervius and warming charms on herself, then headed off to Hogsmeade.
Braced against the wind and rain, Melinda hurried to the Three Broomsticks and she was pleased to see Adrian waiting outside. "Lovely weather this evening, isn't it?" she called out with a small smile.
