Something in what Ron said finally broke through the spell that had separated Percy from reality. He looked at his brother as if only then truly realizing he was still there.

"I'm sorry, about Harry," he said softly, soberly. He couldn't remember if he'd said the words before, rather than just showing how he felt through awkward actions, but he was saying them now.
