CHAMBERS, samara b. ([info]tracelines) wrote in [info]pandorarpg,
She hadn't even thought twice about it when she first read it, but then he mentioned the word 'box' and it hit her. "The box, Eli! Did you know anything about the box that went missing from the Department?" She shuffled through the Daily Prophets that she had collected over the past week and passed him the one from 7 November that had mentioned Dmitri Zurlo and the missing box.

"If the box went missing on the same night that the 'nightmares' began, then maybe the memories were in that box." She pointed to the article. But what he said was true. As far as she knew, memories didn't seek people out, nor did these specific ones want to be pulled from their minds once they were implanted—she'd tried that once already. "It has to be Dark Magic. These aren't normal memories because they don't act like this."

She sat forward, remembering all the things she'd read in school and all that she'd learned during Obliviator training. "If you pull out a memory and you don't place it in a container, it will dissipate. It's not going to seek out a host like these have, so either that box has altered them in some way or Pandora did something to them that made them different than normal memories."
