An Eye-Opening Experience [NARRATIVE]
Who: Melinda Bobbin.
What: Melinda discovers just what kind of establishment The Honeypot is.
When: November 5th, around 9PM.
Where: The Honey Pot, Knockturn Alley.
Rating: PG at least for the kind of place it is.
Melinda was in desperate need of some relaxation. She'd just stepped out of a meeting with two of BBP's suppliers who had conspired together to raise their prices thirty percent in order to supplement their own failing finances. Melinda had thought she was attending to observe her father as he handled the situation, but she'd soon discovered that he'd sent her in there alone. She knew he'd been trying to teach her yet another business lesson, but Melinda was going to have serious words with her father when she went to visit this weekend.
She'd tried charm at first, then logic, but when both had failed after three hours of debate, Melinda has told them in no uncertain terms that either they would accept no more than a two percent fee hike or Bobbin's Botanicals & Provisions could get their supply of bezoars and newts elsewhere. She'd given them twenty-four hours to decide then walked out.
Now Melinda was keyed-up, hungry, and slightly irritated. Fortunately, she remembered the name of the place Theodore had mentioned to her Sunday night. She briefly debated sending quick messages to Ally and Angie to see if either of them could meet her there, but then decided she wanted to see if the Honeypot was a waste of time first. Of course, she had to find it first. Still dressed for business, she went on a hunt for it.
It only took her a few tries to find someone in Diagon who knew where she was talking about. He gave her an odd look, but gave her directions nontheless. Melinda discovered quickly that it was no wonder she'd never heard of The Honeypot before; it was in Knockturn Alley, a place Melinda never went. Even now, she debated going, but Theodore seemed to enjoy it so why not?
Melinda discovered 'why not' soon enough. She'd thought nothing of the large wizards at the door. It was a pub venue after all. The shabby appearance of the short passage she had to walk through didn't put her off either. It seemed intentional rather than a sign of disrepair and what music she could hear was rather good. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all.
The thought left her head immediately when she rounded the corner to the main room and nearly came face to tits with a girl dancing on a platform. As she stared in mortified horror, one thought crossed Melinda's mind: she was going kill Theordore.
