After the funeral, Luna had headed to the Room of Requirement. That it had survived the battle hadn't surprised her all that much. She spent a few minutes with it just as it was the day she'd returned to fight at the Battle of Hogwarts. Then it was the Malfoy dungeon where she'd greeted Harry and Ron as they'd been brought down to join the others in the basement. The room shifted according to her whims, her memory, offering her moments when she'd been with Harry or been inspired by him.
It settled on the room as it had been during DA practice. She moved around, fingertips caressing the scorched walls from where spells had hit, skipping carefully around the figures of Death Eater mannequins that had taken far more abuse than most of the actual Death Eaters had faced at their hands. When she'd circled it fully, Luna stopped, glancing around and nodding. The room changed again.
She was standing alone, the room became a dedication. A portrait of each of her friends was there on the round walls surrounding her. She stepped towards Harry's portrait and smiled sadly. "I'll miss you. Watch over those who love you still. I think we may need it."
With that, she headed toward the door, the room not changing. The portrait of Harry nodded, his glasses slightly askew but he seemed not to notice. The other portraits were there; all of the painted eyes focused on Harry who waved at her as he had once from Platform 9 3/4.
Running across Ginny hadn't been intentional, but then perhaps her feet knew the way, knew to find one of her closest friends, and the one who needed the most watching after. Stepping up to keep step with her she glanced at her sideways then looked to see where they were heading.
"I'm sorry I didn't come by yesterday, but I suppose you were pretty busy anyway."
