Percy certainly hadn't the money to pay for anyone's bail, and as for parole officer, he dared any parole officer to be as vigilant as Percy was over a younger sibling.
He stepped aside to allow her sufficient room to exit the cell, resisting the urge to grab her by the arm (or taking his mum's example, the ear) and dragging her out of there before she could do any further damage. Didn't she know how lucky she was that he was there rather than mum?
"Thank you, officer," he said with a nod, though his attention was more on his sister than the man standing nearby. "I will see you at the next staff meeting."
With that, he gave his sister a look before beginning his walk down the hall, fully expecting her to follow him.
