Adrian Pucey ([info]everupward) wrote in [info]pandorarpg,
Adrian was focused on some more Ministry-oriented papers Harry had kept in his desk and didn't look up again until Neville spoke. "You aren't the only one. "Smith was at the worst possible place at the worst possible time. With his particular attitude and feelings toward Potter, as well as his inability to keep his mouth shut, he's painting himself the popular suspect for the case. But we'd be fools to focus on him and ignore other possibilities. He's far to convenient."

Adrian sat up going back to scanning the notes in front of him. "he's not making himself popular with the public though. At least he's got himself protection, whether he wants it or not." He'd managed to find out about Cho Chang's elected duty to keep an eye on Zacharias. Privately he thought it a good idea, because at the rate he was going Smith was going to get himself hexed, killed or perhaps worse. Angry witches and wizards could be creative.

"I suggest whatever other suspects we have we keep quiet. Anyone we like for this is going to be a public target and we don't what him - or her - killed by some vigilante before we can learn anything." He set aside what he'd been reading into his "possibly important" pile that was steadily growing.
