Neville took the leather bound journal carefully, he had never thought there would come a time when he would need to break into Harry's private journal, however, Adrian was right. He nodded as he did so and pulled open one of the bottom drawers of his desk. Neville was sitting on the floor, legs crossed indian style with three piles of paper in front of him. The furthest was a pile of papers that were personal and not related the work, the second was a stack of notes about old cases that would need to be filed away properly. The third was a pile of things he thought needed to be looked over because they seemed like they could be important, but Neville couldn't exactly spend as much time as he wanted on it right then and there. The journal he put with the pile that he had to check later.
After opening the bottom drawer, he pulled out a stack of papers and once again began looking through them. The first one was a drawing Teddy had made of the two of them flying on a broom. Neville felt the lump in his throat and sighed before looking up to see whether or not Adrian was looking. When he wasn't, he folded the piece of paper and slipped it into his pocket. As he flipped through the papers, neville sighed. He had been up over twenty-four hours all ready. His brain was probably going to be turned to mush far before he went home. He had been there once before, but only briefly after he had left the gala.
"I think," he croaked before clearing his throat. "I think we're wasting our time with Smith." It wasn't something that Neville could say in front of the department heads, couldn't have been a popular opinion, anyway.
