Cade didn't sound particularly thrilled with the results of the autopsy to say the last, much for the same reasons Roger wasn't. An unexplained death, with no clues as to how or why? The way things were turning out, this case promised to go nowhere fast. Hopefully there would be something of more use in Zurlo's possessions.

Casting Roger a wan smile and Cade a wary look, the clerk left his perch on his stool for the first time and scurried off to places unknown to retrieve what they needed. "I can't believe they found nothing, not a trace of magic or poison at all." It was a disturbing and frankly aggravating lack of information that made Cade scowl at the spot the clerk had been.

He returned shortly, a small, nondescript grey box in his hands. "This should be everything," he said with only a hint of a stammer as he set the box down on his pristine white desk.
