Daphne,

I wanted to look in on you, see how you're doing. I apologise I didn't get to spend time with you at the gala as I intended. Being on duty made it a bit difficult to socialise for long periods of time.

I also wanted to ask you a question regarding your nightmare two nights ago, the one that prompted your last journal entry. I understand if you'd rather not go into detail however.

I'll be a bit busy working the Potter case, but I'll make the time if you need it.

Don't think for a moment you've hurt my feelings. I remember you said you would be working, and so of course I couldn't be cross with you. I can make time whenever needed. I should mention, I've a little spot on my ankle. It doesn't seem to go away no matter how hard I scrub at it. And if memory serves, aren't spots/pock marks a sign of dark magic? I only noticed it much later in the morning yesterday.

Perhaps after work this evening then, depending on how things proceed today. I'll send you another note when I'm free and we can have a drink and chat.

That spot - my mother has one as well, on her neck. It only appeared this morning after her own nightmares, and hers will not go away either. Spots can be a sign of dark magic. It's not the only thing they represent, but it's a fair possibility. Please keep an eye on it and let me know if it changes in any way. We'll discuss more tonight.
