Hermione had hated the way the Ministry had flaunted Harry as their poster boy, or at least attempted to do so, both before and after the war. Their blatant disregard for privacy combined with the hero worship she garnered during her final year at Hogwarts had made her shy away from seeking a position within the core of their world. As a result she had taken a job with a well known solicitor. As time went on though, she realized that she would likely eventually have to find a position inside the Ministry if she were ever to get S.P.E.W. off the ground. Her research would be greatly improved were she to have full access to the library at the Ministry, access that was only given to employees. Perhaps if she found someone to help back her movement in the political arena she would make the move in employment.

For now, she had put away her paperwork and in anticipation of Luna's arrival had changed her sitting room into more of a boutique than a library. Her job had required her attendance at several formal events over the years, some private and some at the Ministry. As a result she had many dresses that she could show Luna. Today she'd pulled out a simple green with a jacket, a small black with tribal accessories, a simple white, a frilly pink and an adorned white for her friend to chose from. Any of the dresses could easily be charmed to fit Luna. Hermione had just finished setting the last one in place when she heard a knock on the door.

"Luna," she greeted her friend. Other than Ginny, Hermione considered Luna to be a good female friend. Of course the other did not know as much about Hermione as the youngest Weasley did, but she knew more than others. "How have you been?" she asked waiting for the answer that was to come. Hermione had learned long ago that asking such a question was liable to get an answer that would be off in left field somewhere, but it was a small price to pay for a true friendship.
