Rated: TBD
Who: Justin FF & Jasper Dorny
What: Forcing Jasper to have a good time ;)
Where: Jasper's house in Notting Hill
When: October 31 - 6:15-ish

Justin was thankful that he was a wizard, considering he was standing outside in the crisp October air wearing very little, and only a warming spell was keeping the hairs on his legs from standing painfully on end. He had a numnber of leis around his neck and his wrists, as he had plans to 'lei' as many people at the party as he could. He also carried a duffle bag, inside which was his plan for poor Jasper.

He still remembered him as the shy Hufflepuff a year younger than Justin. They'd never been as close as Justin was to Ernie and Hannah - in all truth, other than his family, he didn't let many people get that close - but they'd had fun on occasion, and Justin didn't like to see anybody he considered a friend miss out on a good time.

He knocked on the door with his usual shave and a haircut rap, hoping Jasper would actually answer the door, rather than pulling a disappearing act in anticipation of Justin's arrival.

Justin smiled sadly. "That's the problem - you've too much to keep you busy at home. Sometimes, you just need to force yourself to get out and do something. Meet new people, or spend time with old friends."

He held back as Jasper handled the boiled kettle and waited for two cups of tea to be made, then reached out to grasp Jasper's chin with his fingers. "Be honest, when's the last time you left the house for anything other than food or errands?" His fingers gentled and moved to brush away an errant lock of hair. "When's the last time you had a good, long shag?"

"Don't pity me," Jasper said a little more sharply than he intended, setting the kettle down heavily. He looked immediately apologetic. "Sorry. You just..." Sounded like my mother, he didn't say, instead just worried over the steeping tea.

He was surprised when Justin took hold of his chin like that, Jasper's eyes going wide behind his glasses. Biting his lip, he gave Justin's question some serious thought. "Last week," he said finally. "I met up with some people." His agent and someone from the publishing house. Jasper had been uncomfortable having lunch out in public where anyone could hear about his, well, his secret career, but it had gone well and the food had been good.

Justin's second question had Jasper's ears practically glowing bright red and he jerked his head away to go back to the tea, his version of hiding in plain sight. "That's...that's not important," he mumbled, handing Justin his tea without looking at him. Jasper then headed for the fridge to put a bit of milk in his own mug. "Not that long," he added, burning face buried in the cool interior of the fridge. It was a blatant lie. It had been at least a year.

"Not important?" Justin asked incredulously. He wrapped his fingers around the mug, letting the warmth seep into his skin. He shook his head, thinking on what a shame it was.

"Not that long for me is a day or two, but something tells me that's not what you mean." He sighed. Despite his own proclivities, he didn't expect his friends to bed someone every other night as he would. He knew they were more choosy, or wanted that someone special that Justin didn't believe existed. But he also understood the very human need for contact, even something as simple as a hug or a snog, or even a close dance. Without that... Justin simply couldn't fathom how to live that way.

He took a sip of his tea, then smiled widely. He put down his mug and approached Jasper, sliding his hands around his waist and placing his chin on Jasper's shoulder. "I don't pity you, mate, I just think it's a shame to keep such a cute bloke off the market, don't you think?" He pulled Jasper closer. "I also worry about you - it's something friends do." A pause. "And there are so many things that friends can do..."

Jasper didn't hear Justin approach, and his mug nearly slipped from his fingers when those arms slipped around his waist. It was familiar and it was warm, and maybe it had been a little too long for Jasper if the way he leaned slightly back into the embrace was any indication. But Justin's kind of distraction wasn't what Jasper wanted.

"I don't do casual," Jasper reminded him quietly, but pointedly. The two times he'd let Justin seduce him, Jasper had ended up with a crush for weeks after. He'd rather not go down that road a third time. Pulling away, Jasper closed the fridge and skirted around the island to put some space between them. "I appreciate the concern, but I'm not off the market. I'm just...not advertising." And what an utterly ridiculous metaphor they'd fallen into. Jasper shook his head. "Besides, don't you have a party to go to?"

Justin closed his eyes when he felt Jasper give in a little, leaning back into him. He breathed deeply - this was what he needed to forget about terrible visions and marks on his best friend... He was disappointed, though, when Jasper pulled away. He wasn't completely surprised, but it still would have been nice. He didn't know whether to be hurt or flattered that Jasper moved to put a physical barrier between them.

"I do," Justin replied with a nod, then grabbed the bag that had been slung over his shoulder the entire time. "And so do you."

He tossed the bag over to Jasper, maintaining the distance that his friend had put between them. "Here's your costume. Don't worry, it'll cover you up neck to toe, but still looks right sexy." A quirk to his lips. "Maybe you're not advertising, but the outfit should do it for you, if you let it."

Long calloused fingers wrapped tight around his warm mug, Jasper stifled a groan. "I already told you, Justin, I'm not go-bloody hell." Jasper only barely managed a one-handed catch of the bag Justin tossed him, and he shot Justin look before setting down his tea.

Opening the bag, Jasper held up the costume and frowned at it in confusion. "You want me to go as Snape?" And then a beat later. "You think Snape was sexy?" Jasper knew Justin wasn't too picky sometimes, but Snape?

"Snape?" Justin replied with equal confusion. "That's not Snape, it's Neo." He looked over the costume and suddenly saw the resemblance. "I didn't realize how alike they looked - though for the record, Snape wasn't that hard on the eyes." He smiled and tried a waggle of his eyebrows to try and bring a smile to Jasper's face.

"It's a character from a Muggle sci-fi movie. We slick back your hair, darken your glasses, and voila - we'll have you looking like Keanu Reeves in no time."

Jasper squinted at the package. "Oh. So it is." The picture really was pretty generic, but now that he knew who the costume was supposed to be, Jasper realized Justin was right, but he still grimaced at the thought of dressing as him. "Everybody's going to think I'm Snape, though," he pointed out. "Or a vampire. Or a vicar."

Justin's comment about Snape earned a look of utter disbelief from Jasper, but his mouth curved up into the smallest of smiles at that ridiculous eyebrow-wiggling. "I have to wonder about your taste sometimes."

"Nothing wrong with a vicar," Justin teased. "The birds will be wanting to 'lure you away from a life of chastity'."

He felt the tiniest feel of victory at the small smile that finally brightened Jasper's face. "Well, you never seemed to complain about my taste before," he replied with a wink, "but that's beside the point. Go put the bloody thing on and then we'll see what we can do to make it less Snape-like. Unless you've another idea?"

He wagged his finger at Jasper. "And before you even suggest it, no, not going is not an option."

Jasper would have argued the 'life of chastity' comment, but he figured it was pretty much true at this point in his life. "I never complained, but your taste is still questionable," Jasper said instead, tone lightly teasing now. "But fine. I'll go change, you sadist." He tucked the costume under his arm with a sigh of resignation. He wasn't likely to hear the end of it until he put the damn thing on, so he took the one last drink of his tea, gave it a mournful look, then headed up to his room to change.

Justin stuck his tongue out at the reiteration of his questionable taste, and waved Jasper along when he left for the bedroom. He'd have followed him in, but Jasper had made it perfectly clear he wasn't interested, and Justin respected it, however it might disappoint him a little.

He picked up his mug and drank his tea while he waited. Am I getting too pushy? Is that it? I know I'm forward, but I'm not going over any lines lately, am I?

He shook his head and checked his watch to see how long it was taking. "Come on, sweet cheeks! Clock is ticking! Don't tell me you're gonna take as long as a girl!"

It didn't take long for Jasper to change, and soon enough, he emerged dressed in the simple costume. He'd brushed his hair back as Justin suggested, but he hadn't been so sure about tinting his glasses. He wasn't so confident in charming his glasses. He needed them to see, after all.

"I'm still not sure about this," he mumbled as he wandered back downstairs, glasses held tightly in his hand. Justin was a familiar blur and Jasper frowned at him. "Do I really have to tint my glasses?"

As Jasper emerged, Justin froze. Oh my god, he's going to be beating them off with a stick! He opened and closed his mouth a few times, trying to find the ability to talk beyond his libido's screaming at him to just take Jasper then and there.

He finally managed to clear his throat enough to talk. "I think you'll be fine without glasses."

His eyes kept moving up and down the cutting figure Jasper made, and he unconsciously licked his lips. Remember, he's not interested. But oh, part of me certainly are...

"Though maybe I shouldn't let you out of here. I don't know if you'll be able to handle all the attention you'll get dressed like that. And no, I'm not just talking about me," he added with a wink.

It was probably for the best that Jasper couldn't see Justin's face clearly at all. The look on his face might very well have sent Jasper running for the safety of his room. Oblivious, he rolled his eyes. "I can't not wear my glasses, Justin. I'm practically blind without them." And speaking of, he needed to clean the smudges he'd undoubtedly left on the lenses.

He started opening drawers, searching for soft, clean cloth. "You know, you're still not making me want to go," Jasper said with a hint of humor, though it was obvious he'd decided to attend the gala somewhere between making tea and changing into his costume.

"Well, being blind isn't so bad. You can just feel your way around." And speaking of feeling his way, it seemed that's what Jasper was doing with the drawers. Justin took the opportunity of his friend's distraction to mentally undress him, using memories to supply what was under the costume. Though the costume was pretty hot - he would definitely shag him with it on or off.

"Oh, you're going," he assured distractedly, his mind on a particular scenario that had Justin bent over the counter... "At the very least, dressed all in black, you can blend into the crowd. Plus, you're already dressed - can't have you all dressed with nowhere to go."

He grinned. "Unless you change your mind about my offer, which I know you haven't."

Jasper let out a quiet huff of frustration when he couldn't find anything to clean his glasses with. He supposed it was for the best. Maybe Justin was right - sort of. Jasper didn't need to see the crowds of people. He could just pretend he was performing, but without an instrument. And blending was definitely good.

"I suppose you're right," Jasper admitted reluctantly as he tucked his glasses into his pocket for safe keeping. "But I won't be feeling anyone up." He didn't bother addressing Justin's last comment; they both knew it was true. But though he refused to fall into that trap again, Jasper was going to let Justin drag him to the gala. "All right, if we're going, let's go before I change my mind."

"Of course I'm right," Justin asserted with a grin.

He slipped his arm over Jasper's shoulders and started leading him away. "Excellent. I swear, you'll have fun tonight - whether you like it or not!"
