"Decent?" Jasper said with obvious doubt, brows rising, but he didn't say anything more as he planted himself in front of the stove and stubbornly willed the water to boil. He refused to smile at Justin's outrageous comments, but the corners of his mouth twitched even as his blush deepened, sweeping up his cheeks to his ears.
It was impossible not to blush with Justin standing so close, touching him, but Jasper felt more embarrassed than anything at the allusion to how he spent his nights. "You know I'm not much for going out. Besides, I have plenty to keep me busy at home." Which was mostly true. He was nearly done with going over the final edits of his next novel, and he already had the outline of the following one waiting to be dived into.
But that wasn't at all what Justin had in mind and Jasper knew it. Fortunately, the kettle began letting out its shrill whistle just then and Jasper was saved from saying anything more as he prepared tea for them both.
