"I can see that," Jasper said with uncharacteristic sarcasm after Justin unnecessarily described his costume. He shut the door and locked it, adding, "You realize there could be children at the Gala, right?" Not too likely, but one never knew. It was open to the public after all.
Jasper turned just in time for one Justin to thrust a lei at him, and Jasper couldn't help flushing no matter how obviously ridiculous his friend was being. "N-no, thank you," he stammered, sidling away as if Justin was holding a venomous snake rather than a string of flowers. "I've got to go check on the kettle." It wasn't exactly running away, Jasper rationalized as he heading back down the hall towards the kitchen. Not in him own house. Besides, he had just put the kettle on.
