"Yes I did. I have a few abilities that some do not have, some that others have and know how to use them better. Our senses are much stronger than that of any human. We can see quite far and wide, we smell things that most humans cannot, and our hearing is impeccable. Now the way we feel things is a bit more complicated to explain. It goes with the use of our other senses, but we have a higher sense of what is evil and good. Mainly because evil makes us sick, it drains the light from us and we cannot live healthily in its presence for very long at all." Legolas smiled sadly, "We have had great wars in my world, and both of them took a great toll on us. Some are more susceptible to the evil than others, the ones that see the future sometimes fall victim more than most. Where there is loss of hope, or it’s fading, we fall ill."
Perhaps he spoke too much, Gimli had often told him such. Then the next moment Gimli complained that he did not talk enough. So Legolas could not tell which was true, perhaps he would learn such here. Gimli was such an aggravating dwarf anyway. The aggravation and fun were the reasons why Legolas missed the dwarf so.
He smiled as Max understood and that he was happy about such a variety in this mansion. "A hobbit is a very interesting creature. Hearty, curly haired and hairy of foot and about yea tall." He held out his hand, barely three foot above the ground, "Quite short, especially to us elves." He gave a wide grin, "They like merry making and gardening the most. Ah, I cannot forget smoking their pipe and eating, I swear hobbits have twenty meals a day!" As he finished his explanation he went on to answer Max's question. "Well, I do not think they really know of each other yet. Plus they are keeping to the rules of not harming another in this place. If anything were to happen Acheron can appear in an instant and stop them." He smiled, "I do believe Kakashi has that ability too, I can only rely upon my swift feet I am afraid."
Studying Max as he admitted that he was not quite comfortable, Legolas nodded. "It will be ok, Max Evans. If someone is hurt and you wish to heal them, then we or you can always carry them to their rooms. If it is possible to do so. If not then you can call upon Acheron." He smiled again, softly this time, "I think you will like being here, once you get used to it."
Legolas nodded, "Everything seems to be larger here." He smiled, "I miss my home. It is far more open, to let in the breeze and the smell of the earth. We elves like knowing that the world still moves without us within it when we rest in our homes." He looked over, giving Max a wink to let him know that he was somewhat joking. Of course, elves were that full of pride.
"Ah here is a place you must come to." He moved to the dining room, walking in and placing a hand on one of the mantles. "Food appears as you need it, everything your heart or stomach desires." He motioned to the table, and as if on cue a glass of water appeared. "Interesting." Legolas smiled and reached over to take a sip. "If you want, just think on it for a moment and your desire will be here." He moved toward another door off the dining room, "If you feel like cooking, the place is here for that." Legolas waved a hand around the spotless place.
In surprise, Legolas could not believe he had forgotten to address those simple facts. "Of course! Your room should be like the one you had at home, including all your clothes and comforts!" He smiled, "I believe that the mansion takes care of all the cleaning. I have put my dirty clothes down in the box designed for them, and the next morning when I wake they are hanging in my closet, looking and smelling as if they had never been worn." He gave Max an apologetic look, "I suppose there is a washing place around here, I have not really paid attention to such as that. I'm sure it is somewhere on the map." He pulled his own out, looking it over, "I don't suppose the bubbling pools of water would be the washing places, as Takato told me they were for relaxing."
