This person seemed to have a lot on his mind. Legolas could feel the weight of his world upon his shoulders, upon his mind. It seemed like a lot for just one person. Perhaps this Max Evans was a king like Aragorn. For only Aragorn and Gandalf seemed to have such weight upon them. His question surprised Legolas, once he finally got it out of the weight of his mind. He had hardly ever been asked such a question in his world. This was not his world though. He smiled softly, "Yes, I would like to think that you could, Max Evans."
As the other seemed intent to keep this a secret affair between them, Legolas listened closely to every word that came from his mouth. He knew much of secrets, whispers in ears for no one else to hear. Often he had heard these secrets, for many did not know the power of the elf's ears. If it was for the greater good, the secret would be kept safe with him. Chuckling after Max Evans' admitted he was not human, Legolas reached out and put a hand on his shoulder. "I knew that you were different the moment you came, Max Evans. I am not one to judge upon race or species. It is what is upon your heart that I worry, but you are good. That is all that matters to me, the good, the light from you."
He thought for a moment, this one was a hunted being. He had seen humans not accept those different from them. They were scared of what was different, scared of what they didn't understand. Most of the time they wouldn't take the time to learn not to be scared. Fear was such a powerful, ugly force. "You must know, that if any come to harm you in this place, they cannot. We will not allow such." He gave a gentle squeeze to Max's shoulder before dropping his hand back to his lap.
Chuckling again at the small fairy serenading Max he nodded, "See, even by the smallest creatures here you are accepted. There are many here that are different. We have a god, we have a battle scarred man, I have met a boy that is friends with a beast that he called a dinosaur who talks mind you." Legolas smiled, "There is also a wizard, something called a vampire two of them actually, and two vampire hunters, and there is also a talking squirrel and my dear friend Smeagol who was once....a hobbit." He tilted his head down, looking at the fish. "You will fit in well here, you need not worry or have fear."
Legolas knew that Max was indeed special. "Your abilities will be well welcomed. We have had a few arrive hurt, just because of the circumstances in their world." He gave a smile to the other, his eyes saddened by the fact that one would hurt another still. He had hoped that evil had finally found it's resting place, but now he knew evil was everywhere. "There are two that control great metal beings, I'm sure they would welcome your help with being able to change things." He lifted a shoulder slightly, looking at Max.
He nodded and stood at Max Evans' question. "Come along then, we shall start here." He motioned to the first door just off the foyer. "Closets and places where people gather in fellowship. They are called dens and living rooms, even though the two are far from caves and the other only lives when there is something living in it." He shook his head, still confused by the concept after this time. It seemed the word living was used so loosely anymore.
