April 7; Arrival of Remus
Who?: Remus and Abby
What?: Arrival of Remus Lupin
When?: April 7; 2 o'clock in the morning
Where?: Remus's flat; Mansion foyer
Rating?: PG-13
Status?: Ongoing
Stumbling home at two o’clock in the morning was never Remus’s style, but Sirius and James had insisted that he stay and party with them and even Peter had thrown up a half-hearted fight to make him stay, which was odd considering that the podgy Marauder was usually content with the two ring-leaders’ company alone. So, against his better judgment, he had stayed with the other two troublemakers as they continued to order drink after drink – just for the hell of it! No occasion whatsoever except to make sure they stayed in touch or something.
As if Remus didn’t see them everyday already.
And though stumbling into his flat at two o’clock in the morning was never his style, he could not say that he hadn’t enjoyed the night. James and Sirius were always entertaining to watch and even more fun to join – but only after Sirius had forced a few shots of fire whisky down his throat. It was never his beverage of choice, but it certainly did the trick to loosen him up a bit so that he wasn’t so tense. Or, as Sirius like to stay, so that he didn’t act as though he had a stick up his arse.
Remus would just reply that at least he actually thought about things before leaping into them unawares. The problem was that when it came to Sirius and James teaming up, Remus’s logic always seemed to be lost in their goading. Such as now, as he stumbled through his flat to his bedroom, a tad bit tipsy at two o’clock in the morning even though he had promised Dumbledore that he would meet with him at seven o’clock the next morning.
Why did he let Padfoot and Prongs talk him into these things?
He fumbled with the doorknob of his bedroom before finally getting it to work beneath his fingertips. He swung the door open, let out a satisfied sigh, and staggered through the doorway. A sudden nauseating pull – not too much unlike a Portkey – stopped him in his tracks as the scene before his eyes swam in circles. He would have blamed this on the alcohol, if it wasn’t for the new location that he suddenly found himself in.
“This is bloody fantastic,” Remus muttered, warily, blinking rapidly as he tried to process what had just happened. His left hand had instinctively reached for the handle of his wand in the back pocket of his jeans – a location that Moody often told him off for. His right hand clutched the fasten of his cloak nervously.
What in the world just happened?
