Warnings Anna's past is full of abuse, in various forms. she doesn't go into details but does talk about it.
Anna sat perched on the rooftop of the Hotel and watched the busy Strip beneath her. Her long hair was bound up in a ponytail and she'd clothed herself in jeans and a t-shirt that while they looked small in size still hung on her too thin frame. Anna was underweight by a lot and she looked it. The light of the Strip made her skin look paler than it was and the freckles stand out darker, a haunted look in her eye. She dangled her legs lazily off the edge of the roof, though, with the recklessness of someone who just didn't care anymore. Her fingers gripped the edge with bone crushing strength, though, no matter the wind strength she wouldn't fall off.
Her head came up when she heard footsteps, those honey brown eyes full of panic and she half-crouched before she realized it wasn't someone who was going to immediately hurt her. Still she stayed as still as she could manage. Anna, despite her terror, gave off the air of someone who you could trust. She was that empathetic soul that made you want to spill your life story to and shield from the unsavory types of people. The look in her eye, though, told you she'd already met the unsavory kind of people and had lost to them. Upon closer inspection, there were scars along her wrists, angry looking but not recent. She took in a long, deep breath and let it out just as slowly. She released a little of the tension in her muscles but not enough to fully relax.
"I'm sorry if I'm in your way." she called out softly to the man who'd joined her on this side of the roof. She was really bad at using her nose to tell her who it was, though she was getting better. Her sharp vision gave her a glimpse of the man she'd chatted with on the network. She still didn't relax, but she didn't run either.
