fic: K-I-S-S-I-N-G
A new comm needs new posts so I come bearing fic. This was written some time ago but not shared too widely so I've dusted it off.
Title: K-I-S-S-I-N-G
Author: conspiratorsb
Pairing: James/Sirius
Rating: PG-13 to be safe
Word Count: 800
Warnings: None, no spoilers
Notes: a scene in one of my other fanfics, in which Teen Harry was spending the night in a tree with Sirius, and no NOTHING happened between them, inspired this story.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, it is my first slashy fic.
Disclaimer: JK Rowling owns these characters. She would never in a million years dream of making them dance in this way. Since she's most likely finished with the pair of them, I'm sure she won't mind if I play for a while. I would never dream of making any money off of this.
Sirius sat staring out across the vast forest. Sunset washed the sky in warmth, a dying breath of color before the blackness set in. Beside him, Harry sighed heavily. Sirius turned to look at him. In his mind the tousled hair didn't hide green eyes, but brown.
James turned back around and smiled at Sirius. "Did you see him?" he chortled. Sirius smiled and nodded, his voice lost to the moment. "He's huge!" James stared back out at the Forbidden Forest, the moonlight glistening on his skin. Sirius didn't need to see them to know James's eyes gleamed as well as he searched the forest for their wayward companion. His excitement hit a higher pitch, "There!" he shouted, nearly jumping up and beginning to topple from the tree. Sirius grabbed him, steadying him by his arm. In a clearing before them, a silvery wolf stalked from between the trees. Its unearthly eyes fixed on them and a snarl danced silently across its muzzle.
James and Sirius froze, holding each other steady on the branch. The werewolf shuffled over to the base of their tree and whined up at them. "He can't reach us," Sirius whispered.
"I know," James replied, his own whisper trembling in the night. The werewolf moved off, perhaps in search of other prey. Together, they let out a sigh.
They looked into each other's eyes and realized at the same time how close they were, how strong they held each other and how quiet the night had grown. Sirius's confession of yesterday lay between them. "I think I might be gay."
James jerked away and Sirius reluctantly let him go. An uncomfortable silence grew around them. "Damn," Sirius thought. "I'm sorry, James," he said.
James shook his head, "No worries, Mate." He chuckled nervously. "It's not as if you kissed me." He faced Sirius, a forced nonchalance held boldly in place.
Sirius nodded, looking away across the sea of pine, berating himself. "Stupid! Stupid! Why did I tell him? Why?" The echoes in his head died away, replaced by a feeling of being watched. He looked back at James.
James was still staring at him, his mouth parted as if he meant to say something. Taken aback, Sirius blinked. "What?" he asked. In response, James leaned into him and planted a quick kiss on his cheek.
With a gasp, Sirius backed away, tumbling from his perch. "Sirius!" James shouted leaping after him. Sirius fell to the ground with a crack, his head bouncing off the ground, stars bursting forth across his vision. His ears rang shrilly for a moment.
"Sirius!" James appeared above him, touching him gently. "Oh my God! Sirius! Are you okay?" Sirius tried to sit up but his protesting back forced him down again. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't think... I didn't mean to..." James continued.
"What was that all about?" Sirius asked. James scooted back as Sirius slowly sat up.
"I...I just--" James shrugged.
Sirius chuckled. "Well that was hardly a real kiss," he observed.
James pouted. "Well it's the best you're going to get," he said standing. "Come on, Remus is out there somewhere." He started towards the castle.
Heart leaping into his throat, Sirius jumped up and hurried after him. "James wait!" he called. Catching up to him, Sirius grabbed him by the arm and spun him around, backing him up against a tree.
James gasped as Sirius covered his mouth with his soft lips. James tried to pull away but found himself trapped by the tree at his back. He struggled a moment more as Sirius's tongue played along his mouth. Sirius held him tight, waiting for the panic to subside.
James calmed, opening his mouth and accepting Sirius's advances. His breathing quickened and Sirius released him. James ran his hands through Sirius's hair, grabbing it and using his hair to pull him away. Sirius broke the kiss and met James's glare, his face carefully blank.
The glare melted away and James released his hold on Sirius. "Do you think girls kiss like that?" he asked.
Sirius chuckled. "I have no idea," he admitted.
