    Friending Button

The year is 2053; eight years have passed since the opening of the Project Power Ranger Academy and the world seems to be on it's way toward recovery. However, with every bit of light, there is an equal amount of darkness. Evil exists and will forever remain a part of the human race, and even with the millions of grateful human beings, peace is not a constant. Riots are becoming more and more common and are particularly serious in the Southern US, violent and involving the lives of thousands. Politicians are divided, some fighting for another ban to be placed on the Rangers, accusing them of trying to control the world, of dominating, of being too powerful and unnecessary. On a much more frightening level, the existence of hostile aliens and other creatures have returned to being in the public eye. The rise of Exus and Velloh have done nothing to soothe the angry politicians and citizens, rather adding fuel to the fire. The sibling aliens have taken up residence in the Moon Palace, abandoned ages ago by the villains of the past. Not much is known of these aliens aside from the very simple fact: they are not here to make peace.

    { This is not your child's Power Rangers. While the basics were drawn from the original television show, Back To Action! is what the show would have been if it had been produced for an adult audience. Within, you will find intense violence, heavy political plots and even - yes, of course - sexual content. This game is OC only with emphasis placed on creativity and player control over their plots. Ideas and world-expansions are not only welcomed but encouraged. }

    Couple of questions
-Are there any parody fansubs out there other than the ones done by FiverSubs? I loved their version of Boukenger Task 7 and I'm looking forward to watching their takes on Magiranger episodes after I get caught up on that.

I'd love to know if there are more out there.

-What exactly are those clear cans of soda(?) that are served at Jungle Karma Pizza all the time? I've never seen anything like them before.

    Curse those lucky Brits!
You're getting Power Rangers Dino Thunder: The Complete Series, Ninja Storm: The Complete Series, SPD: The Complete Series and Mystic Force: The Complete Series this summer.

If you're thinking of importing, you will need a region-free DVD player. Lek and I have one (possibly two) and the chance to have all of Dino Thunder on proper DVDs is extremely tempting. Frustrating after buying the five DVDs that Disney saw fit to release here, but very, very tempting. (Also tempting are the German DVD box sets of old school PR, but the audio issues with some of those releases makes them not nearly as tempting.)

I hope that Disney will notice how many people in North America are importing these and smack their foreheads and go, "Hey! We should release these in Region One, too!" But this is Disney we're talking about here, so the best we'll probably get is all of Jungle Fury on DVD, just like Operation Overdrive.

    Jungle Fury so far.
I watched all of Power Rangers Jungle Fury that's aired so far this week and I have to say, for me, this is the first decent (sometimes almost good) Power Rangers series since Dino Thunder.

Yes, the characterization and writing remain frustratingly inconsistent, but the Rangers (and just about everyone else) are so likeable that I'm willing to overlook those problems.

Why do I feel like I should be using an icon of Captain Mutiny?
Does anyone know of good, reliable non-torrent sources for older Power Rangers episodes?

I know about Rangerboard and have managed to get quite a few episodes from there, but my attempt to get Lightspeed Rescue was denied because the links were dead.

I just joined this community and like so many of you on here, I was a power rangers fan when I was a kid.

I always cheered on the Rangers, booed the villains, and somehow dreamed I was on that show...and did superman dives off of the sofa onto a pillow...NOT! XD

But there was one that always made me happy...TOMMY OLIVER.

What was it about him that I liked? XD

Anyways, before I go off and start rambling, I just wanted to pop in and say hi, so hi! ^_^

    Hey there,

I hope this is allowed, mods please delete if it isn't. But we're currently seeking more people for a panfandom community called Aiode University that can be found here at [info]aiodeuniversity All rangers are currently open except Rocky (Mmpr), Adam(mmpr), Andros (PRiS( and Tori(Ninja storm. But villains are most desired from Power Rangers in Space, and Power Rangers Ninjastorm. So, think you're brave enough to put on the shoes of a ranger and protect the world, or maybe even the Galaxy?

    New member here
    Hi! Newbie fan here! *waves*

I started watching "Operation Overdrive" when my son got the DVD and now we're both hooked. I was thinking of making a Red Ranger costume for him and a Miratrix costume for myself (Ooh! Ambitious!). Does anyone have any good resources for PR cosplayers? Thanks a bunch and happy to be here!

    Jungle Fury action figures
The Jungle Fury action figures have started showing up in stores, though I haven't seen any in the stores I've been in lately. I imagine that'll change by next month.

Every ranger except for the girl gets a sound feature. Cute. )

Power Rangers: Super Legends website goes live
The website for the upcoming Power Rangers: Super Legends video game (for PS2 and PC) is now live.

So far it's mostly screenshots, a synopsis and details about gameplay.

Synopsis: Long thought to have been purified by Zordon's energy wave at the end of Power Rangers in Space, the dastardly Lord Zedd has reappeared in his old form. Concealed in a hidden dimension, he is interfering with the time stream, trying to alter the course of history to destroy every Power Ranger throughout time! Operating from the Halls of Legends, the new Super Ranger must gather a force of Power Rangers and artifacts from across time to break through into Lord Zedd's hidden dimension and restore the timeline!

And here's the website for the Nintendo DS version.

Synopsis: Emperor Grumm has set his sights upon the myth of the Hall of Legends, the resting place for the collected energies of Power Rangers across the universe. In his twisted mind he envisioned a world where his enemy's power is not only stolen, but used to make him a living god over all of creation. The Omega Ranger, aware of all timelines from within the Hall of Legends, discovers this plan and warns the Power Rangers to stand against it. For should the Hall of Legends fall into Grumm's hands, all would be lost.

I might have to pick up the PS2 version, because it sounds pretty cool. (And I actually have a PS2. heh.)

A never-before seen pitch reel for what became VR Troopers
SirStack over at funaroboard posted this: The original, never before seen, pilot presentation for CYBERTRON.

Yes, it's the show that went on to become VR Troopers. It's Jason David Frank in November 1993, playing a role destined to never be his by way of public demand. It's Doug Sloan as Tyler Steel, babyfaced and unassuming for what lie ahead of him as anything but an actor. It's Jamie Kennedy, long before he was a rich man's Seth Green, playing one half of a Bulk & Skull duo called Elmo & Scuzzy (in the scripts, Scuzzy went from being named Elvis to Cleetus). It's the gal who went on to play the Yellow Dark Ranger as Tao's niece! It's the same Tao, but kinda mixed with Prof. Hart! It's Gardner Baldwin as Cyrus Rikter, alias Grimlord! It's his son, Percy, not a nerd but a jock! It's a proto JB mixed with Albee named Mouse! (err, I think he might've been cut out of the presentation, but he IS on the full 10 minute mini-pilot which this pitch reel was made from, and will be posted maybe later this week). It's Mighty RAW's "Go Green Ranger" in its prototype form, except for a different JDF played character! It's Metalder, and nothing else extra! But sadly, though, no Jeb.

And you can find it here for the time being: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Px52AkqelEk

    ADMIN: Rules
[info]oxymoron_inc is an asylum where mature fans of Power Rangers and Sentai can come to talk.

    Basic rules:

1.) No bashing of Sentai or Power Rangers. We're all adults here. If you can post a mature comparison of the two series, then yes. If you just want to go "OMG SENTAI IS GAY!!!11" then you might want to look elsewhere.

2.) Post fic behind a cut-tag no matter what type or how long it is.

3.) Cut-tags are also required for spoilers and large (bigger than 400 pixels) photos. Or if you're posting lots of icons, a cut-tag is a good thing then as well.

4.) We're all adults here, so please, be civil with each other.

5.) Discussion of episodes is welcome, but if you're going to get in-depth, then a cut-tag is a good idea.

No ownership of any Power Rangers characters is implied or inferred in any post in this community. Bandai, Disney and Village Roadshow own all. We just want a place where we can talk about the shows without a flame war erupting.

Any questions can be sent my way at jcrewguy@gmail.com
