Meri was not poor, she and Cale had never really felt want, but the fact was that it took a while to understand just how much wealth they had access to now. She was used to keeping an eye on what they spent so that she wasn't overdrawing her account. Even though Cale had been in college on a scholarship, there had been expenses to keep him fed and all, and those didn't go away. Starbucks and his paychecks there were nice, but she hated to ask him to contribute. In her mind he was still just a kid and he could use the money to keep himself going. She gladly went without and even knowing she didn't have to, it was strange now.
Her eyes darted to him at the mention of the pack and she ran a hand through her hair thoughtfully. "I'm a coyote." This said half-nervously. Even if she was his mate, she was a coyote and he and the rest were wolves. Nature indicated that there was limited room for her, in some ways. She was a scavenger to some degree and the wolves she had encountered (outside Adam) had not been a fan. "What if they don't like me?" Because she was also very much a 24 year old. Insecurity didn't peek out often but given her age it wasn't unheard of.
She laughed and shook her head. "I can do other stuff. I don't want to be entirely making others do things for me." She was not used to that thought at all honestly. She had always handled things at home in the last few years because she was the most capable, after all.
