"There's a lovely wee fish chip shop back home I'd love to take ye," Brenner said with a wistful laugh. "Ol' Neville's a propa canny radgie, and his hinny Barb is about the sweetest woman on earth, apart from me mam that is. But since I can't take ye doon the Toon, there's a nice wee Italian place around the corner. D'ye like Italian?"

From his closet he pulled a nicer, long sleeved button down shirt in sky blue, and a navy blue tie patterned with tiny white diamonds. He shrugged into the shirt, slung the tie around his neck, and walked back out still buttoning himself up.
"I reckon I look propa for a dinner with a beautiful lass now," he said with a lopsided grin as he finished buttons and deftly tied the tie. "Shall we?"
