WHO: Drifter and Kaisa Galanos WHAT: Crossing paths WHEN: 8/21; around 11pm. WHERE: college campus RATING: High - blood drinking, NPC death, language, drugs...it's Drifter.
Boredom was a constant for the man who didn't age or die. Hell after living for over a century there wasn't much that really managed to hold the vampire's interest for long. Oh the drugs and drinking helped numb that dull ache, yet it was the music that really kept Drifter going. For a hundred plus years he had wandered the world, a weary musician traveling down the dusty roads in search of a place to play. The songs and haunting melodies were always just there out of reach, a hidden symphony swirling around within his brain. Maybe the drugs and drinking had left him a little addled at times, but after a fucking long century Drifter had honed his craft well. He was there in the background of all those old photos; always around the once living legends of music. The muse that jammed with them in smokey back rooms, and partied with them in dark crowded bars.
Now though such days were long gone, and those gifted humans had all passed away. The 'new' world, with all it's technology, grew far too small for Drifter and it was hard to revel in it all when any fucking fool had a camera on their cell phones these days. Hidden just out of sight was how he preferred to live, but such things became harder in the current Age. So here the vamp was, in the campus parking lot, drinking deep from the neck of a girl he found out late and wandering all alone. The taste of blood flooded into his mouth, so hot and delicious. Yet even as his head was swimming, thanks to the bottles of whiskey he had downed just a bit ago, the sound of someone singing reached his ears. Off in the distance he could hear that sweet sound as a new girl seemed to be making her way down the sidewalk...so blissfully unaware of the madness that was lurking just on the other side of the fence.
That song of hers pulled all his focus though, and thoughts of his meal faded away almost as rapidly as his victim's life faded away. It had been ages since anything had stirred him so, but there was no denying that that siren's song had caught his complete attention. Without giving it a second thought the vampire just suddenly snapped his poor victim's neck, leaving her body crumpled there on the pavement, before he moved to investigate the source of the song. In the blink of an eye the vampire hopped the tall fence and landed with impossible grace a few feet behind her. Silent as the grave he moved, slowly striding behind as his gaze drifted over the young woman's form. Oh she was attractive to be sure, as far as humans go, but it was her voice that held his attention. Without saying a thing he just followed behind, his feet never making a sound at all as the vampire tagged along.
