So. This wasn't the reception she'd expected. Not like she'd thought there'd be banners and Dean would be standing in the middle of a road waiting for her, ready to explain everything. But already there were a lot of hoops.
They didn't know she was the Slayer - not even Dean had known. So why would a brother and a friend be so cautious about a cute blonde girl looking for Dean? Soap opera stuff flashed through her brain for a moment. Did they think she was an angry ex out for revenge or claiming he'd fathered her child? Oh brother.
She smiled as genially as she could. "Well, uh...yea." She pulled at her purse, fishing out the small ivory envelope. Dean's cramped handwriting was visible on the envelope. Holding it up, she said. "Listen, the letter itself is kind of personal so I'd rather have you not read it. But I mean - this is his handwriting, right?" She looked at the envelope she was holding up, back to Sam with a hopeful smile.
"I promise I'm not here to hurt him or anything. Just wanna talk. And I kinda came a long way, soo..."
