Rose looked both irritated and embarrassed at Dayle's questioning, and for a brief moment, Charlie questioned the wisdom in calling in Dayle's services. Expert though she certainly was, Dayle also had a very strong, sometimes abrasive personality that she could clearly see was rubbing Rosemary the wrong way.
"Look, Rosemary, I'm sorry, but you asked for info on boys, and frankly, I don't know a thing about them. Dayle does. If you really want to learn for... you know, whatever reason you want to learn about them, she's your best bet."
Dayle nodded, arms folded over her chest. "And besides, there is no such thing as needing to understand boys without there being some sort of reason relating to being interested in one particular boy."
She's not exactly making herself more appealing as a teacher, Charlie thought. "Yeah, so, she's a little pushy..."
"Hey!"
"... and she can be a tad annoying at times..."
"Charlie, is this supposed to be some certificate of my accomplishments? Because you're sort of sucking at it."
"... But, for what you want to learn, you won't find a better teacher in town. Probably not in the state, either. It's pretty much either her, or Royce."
