Charlie was a little slow on the uptake, but once she understood it, she had to bite her lip to keep from laughing. So Rose has found herself a crush, and doesn't think Royce would know how to help her with that? Pfft, more like he wouldn't stop at locking her in their apartment if he absolutely had to. And so, Rose turned to her, the only other girl she knew. Though necessity drew the blonde to her front door, Charlie still couldn't help but be the slightest bit flattered.
Noah glanced up once to find the newcomer a lot closer than she was previously, though he didn't seem surprised. He stared at her, taking in Rose's fascination with his activity, and make up his mind. Dropping the crayon, he reached for the top of the page, and ripped it clean out of the book. Then he solemnly handed the book to Rosemary. "You can color too if you want. Here." And he silently pushed the box of crayons toward her before returning to his own coloring project.
Charlie smiled warmly, and Noah looked up just in time to catch it. She was rewarded with a brilliant smile in return before he ducked his head and reached for the red crayon.
Two, she thought affectionately. I have the world's two best guys in my life. And they're all mine.
But then, her attention was drawn to Rosemary, and her current dilemma. She thought back on Rose's words, and sighed. Well, yes, Charlie was a girl, but it wasn't as if she was that kind of girl. Having a real boyfriend for all of seven-and-a-half days did not suddenly make her an expert on all things male...
... but, Charlie did know a male expert with far more experience and knowledge.
"Well, Rose, there's not too much I can do, but I do know someone who can probably help." Fishing in her pocket, she produced a cell phone (a job perk that the Doc made her take after she started assisting with small scale operations so he could get a hold of her whenever he needed help or someone to watch the clinic while he was gone), and tapped out a few numbers. The was a short ring tone, a cheery "Sup!", and Charlie was quickly explaining the situation.
Eight minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and Charlie went to answer it, relieved she could make it.
"Dayle," she said by way of greeting when she saw the beautiful brunette on her doormat. Both Dayle and Tanya, her only two friends outside of Rosemary and Noah, were drop dead gorgeous, and standing between them always left her with serious blows to her self esteem... but then again, Royce chose her.
"Thank you for coming on such short noticed."
"No probs," Dayle replied, gliding past her into the living room. A cursory glance took in Noah and his coloring book (the two had been introduced a few days prior), but then she promptly fixed her cinnamon eyes on the other, younger wolf, and was all business. "I heard it was an emergency, so obviously, there was no time to waste. You're Rosemary, right? Royce's kid sister? Why don't you start from the beginning, and tell us everything. Where you met him, what he said, what you were wearing. Every detail is absolutely important, so don't spare any details."
