"Are you sure you're not a Pepper? You look awful peppery. Or is that persnickety?" Rosemary shrugged. It didn't register in her mind that this Noah would be insulted at being called an 'it'. Everybody was an 'it'. She wouldn't mind being called an 'it'. Better than a lot of other names, that was for sure. Besides, she thought Pepper was a cute name. Peppers were small. He was small. See?
She had been about to make up a whole new name for herself but Charlie beat her to the punch and was introducing her to the vampire as Royce's sister. Which was weird because it was usually Royce who was doing that. It wasn't too weird though. Or maybe it was but she was already moving on. "Me and Royce are family. Charlie's part of the family. I think her boss is too but I haven't asked him and even if I did, I don't think he'd say yes."
Deciding that Noah was as safe as a parrot, Rosemary went ahead and skipped her way into the living room. At the least, Royce would be comforted by the fact that she was keeping herself between Charlie and the vampire. If the vampire were to try anything, wouldn't he have done it by now? Then again, vampires were known for taking their time. The good ones, anyway. Crowne especially loved taking his time. It was part of what drove Royce crazy sometimes. Crowne knew that Royce knew that he was around but he had yet to actually show himself. He was pulling the dramatics out of his nice five hundred dollar suit jacket.
Rosemary stood there, staring down at the vampire as he sat and colored at the coffee table. There was no harsh glare or nasty turn up of her lip. Just her keeping two eyes on him. And his coloring. That actually looked like fun. She dropped to her knees and scooted closer to the table, eyes starting to be more on the crayons than the vampire. Royce would be so disappointed in her.
She never claimed to have a good attention span.
"What girly stuff?" Rosemary finally looked away from Noah and his coloring to glance over at Charlie. "Royce knows about you. And how to talk to girls. He doesn't know how to be a girl. I need a girl who knows how girls work. How girls know how boys work." Aaannnd her head flipped back to Noah, still without touching or talking.
