The she-wolf would have howled out her joyous conquest if her mouth wasn't already full of paper bag and ketsup. But since her mouth was occupied, her glee had to be let out in some way so she pranced in place, that wolfish smirk plain as day. Not only had she been able to snatch the food-bag away from the delivery boy with the ease and grace of a ..... of something graceful, but the Doc wasn't even going to give chase! Ha! So she had won her right to eat what she pleased and damn everything else!
Except, now the game the was over. She hadn't realized this before but she had been hoping that the Doc would come after her and try to retrieve his meal back. She would have given it up to him eventually but only after she got tired of the game. Her tail stilled as she watched the old man disappear back into the clinic, all hopes for a cure to her boredom going with him. As well as the door shutting. Blast!
Well, that didn't work out according to plan, Rosemary thought sullenly. What was she going to do now? Guess I could eat the burger ... which would take less than a minute. Forty-five seconds, tops.
Her ears suddenly perked up as a string of curses came her way. Rosey wasn't a prude. She cursed a couple times herself but what she was hearing, wow. Her head finally turned back to the delivery boy, who she had honestly almost forgotten all about and would have completely dismissed had it not been for the heated words he was expelling. Boy, he sounded angry.
Angry enough to try and get his food-bag back?
And the game was back on!
Rosemary came a few steps closer (nowhere close to an arm's reach) and then stopped. A few seconds passed before she opened her mouth and plopped the paper bag to the ground. Then, she took a few steps back and laid down. She licked her teeth and waited for him to make a move. Of course, she was fast enough to grab it back before he could even get back up to his feet but she had to play fair. She planned to wait until he was just within grabbing distance, just close enough to make him think he had a chance and THEN, she'd snatch it up right from under his hands.
Hopefully, he'd give chase. She loved it when humans tried that.
