As a werewolf, he always had to be on his guard. He was part of lore, part of myth. In children's stories, he was the thing the hero had to kill. The monster, the beast, the villain. He never played into the role, keeping himself out of trouble for the most part, but any time he was around humans, he felt like he was playing that part.
With Charlie, it was different, Like everything else with her, it was just different. Whenever he saw her, it was like the world stopped moving. Everything else was frozen in place and all he could see was her. It was no wonder that he had forgotten about Rosey. Something he still felt guilty over and would have to work at making up for it. Severely making up for it. Especially since she had actually been so decent about it. If the fur were on the other body, he would have out-right made a scene if he thought she was ignoring him for some ... some human!
But thankfully, that was something he didn't have to worry about. Rosey had as much taste for humans as the Doc had for messes. She tolerated them and that was it.
Royce lifted an eyebrow as he took a look at her book, his smile falling. "Animal Anatomy?" He really didn't like the sound of that. What the hell did she mean by 'delicate work'? Not dissecting, right? "Sounds messy." That was the best way he could put how he felt on the subject. His stomach was starting to turn but then the mention of Rosemary brought it back. "It was great," he started, though he didn't move from his spot (or else he'd be tempted to rip that book out of her hands). "She was the most behaved as I've ever seen her be."
And here was where things got stupidly complicated. He didn't want to just come right out and tell her that Rosey told him that they could have their date because it made him sound like an idiot. And he didn't want to just ask her for a date only a day after she told him that she liked-liked him and less than 24 hours after he kissed her. It was only only on the cheek but he still didn't want to make her uncomfortable. He was already feeling that himself. "So, well, uh, you got any plans for tonight?"
