It was more Rosemary's thing to sneak up on people and scare them out of their wits. Or really, scare them out of their meals. But Royce had never seen the enjoyment out of scaring someone. Until now. The sight of Charlie leaping out of her chair was hilarious. And her scream? It was sorta cute. "Sorry, didn't mean to sneak up on you," he said with a smirk. Honestly, he hadn't. He would have thought that she would have heard him come in but there wasn't any bell on the door so the only way she could have heard him was if she had super-hearing. Which she obviously didn't.
He had always been quiet, even as a child. It wasn't necessarily a werewolf thing, In fact, most of the kids he had known growing up had taken great pride in being just the opposite. They were loud and rambunctious. Much like Rosemary. If she had entered, Charlie would have heard her before she even stepped into the clinic. She even noticed Rosemary when she wasn't here.
Royce shrugged, turning and leaning against the wall as he shoved his hands in his pockets. "Abbey is fine. It's just too early for her to get up so I left her at home to sleep in some more." As for her other question, how was he going to answer that without making her curious? He had intended on speaking with the Doc as soon as he got in, not expecting the old man to be out on house calls. "Horses, cows and chickens, oh my. Sounds like he'll be gone for a bit, huh?" He shook his head. "Nah, it's nothing big. Just some ... guy talk. I can wait around until he comes back. You happen to know when that'll be?"
