Rosemary wasn't the only one looking to bite a hand. The other wolf looked next to murderous as he watched the two humans pretty much man-handle the smaller wolf with less than kind hands. That stupid boy wasn't even touching her, just spraying the cold water directly into her face. Royce wasn't the type to condone violence and only thought of it was a last second act but at the moment, he would have loved to bite the boy's ankle, if only to get him to pay more attention to what the hell he was doing. How would the kid like it if HE had a bunch of water sprayed in HIS face? Not very much, Royce could guarantee that.
He was only too happy that the girl he was with, Charlie (though that was an odd name for a girl), started untying the rope that was 'holding' him to the pole and lead him over to where Rosemary and the two humans were. Royce pulled on the makeshift leash, wanting to get there faster than Charlie was walking them. He knew she too was anxious about the way they were treating the little wolf but what she didn't know was that Rosemary's patience only lasted so long and when it got to a point, not even his gentle commands would be able to calm her down.
It was hard not to tug too hard on the leash. Royce knew if he used too much of his strength, the girl would land on her back, staring up at the sky wondering just what the hell had happened. But again, it was hard not to pull forward so much when he had Rosemary's pained expression in front of him.
The conversation between the humans was lost on him. He didn't care much about what the other two humans had to say. They were clearly idiots and didn't know how to wash a dog properly. Or lovingly. Not that Royce expected the three humans to love either of them. Dog or wolf, they were too dangerous looking to be truly loved. Not to mention the whole werewolf thing. He would have loved to see their faces if they ever realized just what it was that they were touching. But neither of them dared to change in front of a human. Not only was it an intimate sort of thing, it was also a very stupid thing. They'd get their asses handed to them so fast.
And of course, they'd have to skip town.
When the one other human girl started digging her long manicured nails into Rosemary's fur, the white wolf gave out a painful yelp and ripped her body away. Before Royce could even bark out a warning (he actually gave out several), Rosemary had snapped. The leash that had been holding her down was broken and she was making quick work on the muzzle.
There would no doubt be some screaming involved now that she was loose. Even before Rosemary had her muzzle off, she was turning around and growling dangerously at the girl, as if she would just scare her to death. Royce made a quick decision, mentally apologized to Charlie for this, and broke free of the leash. He rushed over and put himself between the one human girl and Rosemary, shoving his friend's muzzled nose with his own free one. Stop it!
