Charlotte laughed, glad for the small release. She had been so tense lately, so on edge, that even the smallest bit of comic relief was welcome. Not that she had been a big laugher to begin with, but still. Anything was welcome at this point in time. "Oh, I wouldn't blame you. If anybody deserved it, I think it might be him."
She sighed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, then scooted backwards and leaned against the sofa, eyes drifting to the ceiling. "Implications, yes, that's it exactly. He's... well, as far as I can tell, he's a decent man. Very decent. He's tried to help me a few times before, and he's already told me that he... cares about me." She sighed again and closed her eyes. "I just don't know. I don't know anything anymore."
