Considering how many things she'd bailed on in her life, it shouldn't have been that hard for Rick to get rid of her. Yet, almost two years later, he'd hardly even come close. A lot of that probably had to do with the fact that they'd never come to the conclusion that there was anything to leave. Still there'd been plenty of times when she would have been able to justify cutting loose, too. But she didn't. Hell, she'd barely even considered it. Here recently, in the last six months or so, she hadn't considered it at all.

"As long as you think it's appealing." She'd wondered, during moments when her ego couldn't keep her afloat, what it was that had kept Rick around for so long. Dallas knew exactly what her strongest selling point was as any kind of significant other, and it had nothing to do with her sense of humor. She'd spent a good chunk of her adult life marketing her looks, and she knew that had to be her biggest draw. After two years, though, there had to be something else going for her. "You ain't so bad yourself. Guess that means I'll keep you."
