She leaned against the door, and he thought to himself he ought to meet her more often. “Oh, thank you. I think green really flatters me.” He said, half-joking, still making the conversation right. His torso inclined a bit forward as his mouth got near her ear. “I think we could have a glass of champagne to start the night.” He said, for he knew Rebecca probably would enjoy his teasing as much as him. He kissed the soft spot beneath her ear before taking her hand and leading them both in.
“That’s good. I just wanted to see you too.” And by that, he could mean anything from sex to a meaningful social interaction. He didn’t show his weaknesses very well, though, and maybe Rebecca would notice he wasn’t exactly okay, maybe she wouldn’t. One could never know.
There was champagne in a bucket full of ice with two glasses, as it would be expected. He might not buy her dinner that time, but he would surely buy her a drink. He liked to treat a woman right. He could be slightly promiscuous most of the time, but h was no liar and he was no gorilla. That was probably a part of his charm, along with his flattering and seductive ways. He made no false promises. He paid for dinner. He was pleasant at all times. What was there not to like?
He poured them both a glass and raised his hand in a cheer gesture.
