"What?" She sat up enough so that she could actually see his face. "No. The only reason he's got a problem with it at all is because of the Allan thing." Well, men still put him off some, but short of her going lesbian, that wasn't going to change. Which meant it was never going to change. She liked men too much. "And what do you mean I could do better? Don't be fucking stupid." She rolled her eyes. The chances of anyone better having her, were slim. Although, in her opinion, there probably wasn't anyone better for her. Rick knew how to put up with her. That was pretty much all she could ask from any potential partner.
"I'd be flattered, if that wasn't kind of...weird." Now she was pouting again, trying to look calm even though her heart was racing a mile a minute. Was this the part where he decided that they were done? That whatever the fuck it was they'd been doing for the last year had run it's course? She took a deep breath, a vain attempt at steadying herself. "Yeah, well, so am I. I could probably give Allan a run for his money." She tried to smile. Maybe she ought to do it, before he got a chance. At least that way, she could keep some of her pride. "I guess that's it, huh?"
