He looked kind of surprised that she was there. That wasn’t much of a surprise for her. She didn’t really have any reason to be there. Not one that he knew of, anyway. She’d put a lot of time and effort in to making everyone think that she never wanted to see him again, but that hadn’t stopped her from bolting from her house at an ungodly hour to be with him. It was fine to claim that you didn’t want anything to do with someone, right up until the moment when it became apart that you might not have any choice in the matter.
“Yeah, I am.” She smiled back, and tried to hold in a whole new round of relieved tears. She’d missed him, so much. “Hope you don’t mind.”
