Who: James and Sarah Miller. What: Sarah wakes up. When: Right now! Where: Hospital, San Franscisco
James had never been what anyone called patient. He hated waiting on doctors, he hated waiting in traffic lanes and he hated waiting on his wife when she went shopping and took forever. This was a worse kind of waiting. It was the kind of waiting that scared him a little, because he wanted Sarah to wake up so he could really yell at her for being idiotic and acting like she was going to die. She wasn't going to die. She would some day, probably with him bludgeoning her with her own giant high heels for one too many shopping trips, but not right now. He would really give her a piece of his mind when she woke up, as she undoubtedly would. He'd spent all day thinking of what he'd tell her, with some brief parental interludes, because he was bored out of his mind and had drank a lot of really crap coffee.
Yes, he was definitely not very patient but it meant she'd wake up feeling a hell of a lot better, he'd put up with nasty coffee and hospitals. You make sacrifices for the people you love.
