So she wasn't angry. That was good news, though he didn't know that it resolved anything, exactly. If neither of them were angry, then that just left...he didn't know what. He was positive that there were no words in the English language to describe how he was feeling.
He stepped back, startled, when the door went flying open. If this was her not pissed off, he had to wonder what would have happened if he had pissed her off. Rafe couldn't help himself. He braced for whatever tech attack she planned to throw at him. But it never came. Instead, she just walked right up to him and jabbed him in the chest. That was was equally shocking, and it took him a second to catch up. In contrast to her own quiet voice, his had raised, the automatic reaction to her coming at him like that. "You're right, I did. Do you want me to apologize for that?"
He grabbed her hand, just in case she decided to take another jab at him. "Because I'm not sorry."
