"I know, I know," the redhead parried, following Jax' lead, "I'm just sayin'." If ther was one thing she was good at, it was picking her way through a crowd.
"I should know better than that," she agreed, "But I guess if you can avoid watching the news, things are not too bad. I mean, Tanya seems to be settling in okay at school, nobody's been bothering her, and my mom is happily celebrating her three month anniversary as Mrs. Norman Richardson."
She laughed. "Yeah. I've got a new step-dad, in case you hadn't heard. Oh, and I went out with a cop last night--interesting change of pace from my usual fare, but I might be acquiring a taste for the less bad guys."
