Who: Jeremiah Radley, Ted Holloway Where: Dean & Deluca, SoHo, New York City. When: 5 p.m., Friday What: Jeremiah Radley meets his great-great-great... etc. grandson. There is coffee, babka, and a heaping serving of awkward. Rating: No warnings. G-ish.
It had been a close call, but Ted had successfully made it from his interview at the Agency offices to SoHo in time for his meeting with Radley. He was uncomfortable before he'd even stepped in the door; strangle-tight tie and monkey suit aside, the thought of meeting someone who'd known his father had him on edge.
The trip to the pastry section of the store was an old habit; when he'd worked in the area, he and his coworkers had come over for the occasional donut. Ted strolled along the display for lack of a better plan. He didn't know how to identify Radley. Not really - he certainly didn't think he'd be able to locate the man in a crowd. All he could do was hope that Jeremiah would recognize him. After paying for enough cake and coffee for two, Ted went wandering out towards the entrance in an attempt to make himself visible.
