"Yeah, the closer the better," Rebecca agreed, pushing herself up from the floor. As long as she didn't think too much beyond the immediate situation, taking care of Annie and the boy, she was okay.
Her eyes were still a little troubled as she looked at Clyde, in light of his admonition, but she just nodded. "She's stable, I think," she said, "Just be careful of that leg."
She glanced over at Teddy, ruffling his hair as she walked past on the way to her bedroom to grab her coat. She picked up her purse on the way back, then picked up the kid, and her keys. Not that she had a whole lot of confidence in locking up now, but she didn't think anyone else would be breaking in so soon.
