"It should work," Becca said, trying to hold on to the confidence that Ruby seemed to feel--but somehow it just unsettled her all the more. "Even if he's shielding like a son of a bitch, I should be able to get a picture of the place that he wants us to overlook. Or at least the surrounding area."
That said, she turned her focus to the map, taking a cigarette lighter from her purse as she went about the incantation. And as wrong as it was, in the flickering light of her witchcraft, she even offered up a quick prayer to whatever God might be listening that this wold work--that Annie and Teddy would be found alive.
Amen. And out went the flames. "There's your map," she said, "Find out what's there, and let's go find Annie and Teddy."
