He didn't flinch when she touched him; he didn't really do anything but stand there. He hated himself for being so useless, so lost - what had he been thinking, joining this war? Sam may have been brought up a soldier, but he hadn't. He couldn't do this.
He had to, though. He had to get Annie and Teddy back, had to make sure they were safe and that they stayed safe. That was all that mattered right now.
He furrowed his brow at her question, trying to think. "Uhh, maybe? I know I went to post something after I found..." He shook his head, trying to get the image of that poor girl's dead body out of his mind. "Anyway, that's about when Sam took over. He says he talked to Natalie, but he didn't tell her why he needed to know where, uh... where you were." He half-shrugged weakly. "That's all I know."
