"Up to you. This is supposed to be your thing. I'm just along for the show, right?" Tristan's nerves were jittery, he felt like he was crawling out of his skin. Elphaba was more than uncomfortable, around so many people, but he couldn't worry about her. He was on a mission, and Elphaba's discomfort was hardly a concern.
More and more people were coming in and there was still no sign of Gloria or the kids. Tristan's mind was jumping in a thousand directions. Maybe they weren't coming. Maybe they were already here. Maybe Gloria found out he was coming and took off again. A lot of his thoughts were irrational, but there was no helping that, he wouldn't be able to settle, until he saw them.
"What do you think, half pint? Think we should go find the milk and cookies?" He asked Ava, trying to distract himself and appear calm and casual, like a man with no ulterior motive but to get out of there as fast as he could, like most of the other men in the place.
