It had not been that long of a day for Betty, even though she had just spent the last ten hours working at the casino. For anyone that knew Bette, she always seemed to possess an overabundance of energy and when she felt short on it, all she had to do was tap into one of her back pocket energy supplies. It's partially what made Bette such an ideal worker, for anybody really. She never seemed to be on the verge of getting fed up with a customer, or visibly looking like she was lagging. So even though she had been on her feet or in a rigid-like sitting position for the last ten hours, it hardly phased her once she was actually out the door and on her way home. Phin was working an extra hour or so longer than her so she figured they'd just meet up at home. Home, that was strange. Pretty much since they first met about a month or so ago, Phin had been living in the apartment while her roommate's been away in Europe. It had been a surprisingly easy transition for the most part, which in itself was a little weird. They were pretty much doing the moving in together and getting to know each other thing at the same time. He had needed a place to stay though and Bette happened to have an opening that was totally free so really, how could she have said no? She wouldn't have, because despite the early awkwardness, it was sort of nice having him so close. In a way they had managed to pretty much skirt over most of the unnecessary pre-getting to know each other stuff and things had just started to click.
Betty was worried in the beginning that Phin would just be completely put off by her impulsive nature, though Al would probably more refer to it as her impulsive childish nature. That didn't seem to be the case though, sure there were times when their age difference was painfully apparent. But then there were other times when Phin actually seemed to enjoy Bette's wild streak, even encourage it in the small ways. Like just deciding out of nowhere to get a pet, since now as of a week ago they had a cat. Bette was grateful to see that her sister hadn't bothered to ask her about the logistics of this entire situation because Bette really wouldn't have been able to tell her. Things were strange, but in a very good way as far as Bette could tell, so she was content to just sit back and enjoy the ride for as long as it took her. Aside from everything else, she was seeing Robin in a totally different light ever since Marian came into their lives. He was still the same by all accounts, but now when Phin was around, he was a lot less cheeky and a bit more genuine. He was a bit iffy on Phineas still, but really did love this Lady Marian chick, that was very obvious to Bette and it was sorta sweet. Thankfully, Robin and Marian had both been pretty respectful about things so far and had refrained from coming out with any sappy love declarations or anything like that; which most likely would have made living together even weirder for Bette and Phin. All in all, a weird, nice little set up she had going. Now she was just waiting for Phin to get home from work himself. The Sheriff of Bettyham was on her lap purring away like a tiny motor boat as Bette lay sprawled across the couch in the living room, listening to the Clash on vinyl.
