She didn't want to be doing this, not exactly, but Dita saw no other way to train him. He needed to know how to use a gun should the war actually go hot. Cold war kept the violence localized, closed, behind the scenes. It wasn't a better way of conducting war, but it meant that people like Kaylee and Greg didn't need to get involved. She would have been happier that way, yet some part of her was happy that he was here. She was growing more and more accustomed to his face; she found herself looking forward to training sessions, and it bothered her. She wasn't sure if the fear that he would be gone, death or just leaving, was coming from her own fears or from Zoe's. No matter how strong one woman was, and how independent the other was, they both had that fear of loving and losing.
Dita picked up Greg at what was becoming one of their usual meeting places, the local Agency office, and headed out to Malcolm's. The name hadn't gone unnoticed, but it wasn't a place Jake had found. Dita had found Malcolm's all on her own, and she had made the deals all on her own. There were small awkward moments, but they always had small awkward moments. Would they ever not have them? She got out of the car, wearing jeans and a light jacket over a Serenity logo tee. It was something of a joke she was hiding to surprise Greg with once they were inside.
"Have you had much experience? I was thinking a low caliber hand gun, or a revolver, to start with. We can go to higher caliber once you've gotten used to the recoil. Actually many pieces are being designed to reduce recoil." Dita led her student to the counter where they'd get their gear, guns, ammo, protection. "They do have a moving target capability, but I believe stationary targets for now."
Dita looked up at him, giving a slight smile. Her hand reached over and lightly touched his, just brief contact. "Ready for the next lesson?"
