Ted was early. Vader had the highest faith in his own instincts and ability to sense trouble, but Ted wanted to get a look at the meeting spot first. They had circled the block, Ted had gotten his nerves in order, and then an unassuming college-aged kid had taken up a post at the Camelot rendezvous point.
There was a personality shift in the twenty-something after the group had assembled. Ted stayed at the fore through the introductions, clearly nervous but also unfailingly polite. Then, at the green light, he went quiet and a little frosty. Nerves, perhaps, mixed with Vader's quiet assumption of more control. Ted knew they'd need the Jedi instincts, and that meant playing nice with the head-guest.
