"Yes, that's better than nothing," Matilda said with a smile. "I seriously doubt that Clyde will let you slip up now that you're - well, almost officially on our side. And I won't either. So. As soon as you talk to Michael, I think you're set." She gave Becca an encouraging smile, which, hopefully, disguised her desire to end the conversation. It wasn't as if she didn't enjoy talking to Becca, because she did - it was just that a sudden and desperate urge to be alone came over her, and she just needed to leave as soon as possible. Thankfully, this was a good a place as any to end their talk; she couldn't think of anything else they needed to cover, and the only thing that could keep the conversation going was the last thing she wanted to talk about. She just hoped that Becca wouldn't notice her haste; if she did, Matilda had no idea how she would explain it away.
